Although I am open, warm, accepting and I love spending time with people, I am unable to build deep personal connections due to being unable to understand others. I've always tried to be there for people, but maybe I couldn't without realizing it, because I couldn't understand what they were going through. I need to shift my perspective and look at relationships as a way to advance mutual interests and share time and experiences, rather than as a vehicle to build a long term bond. That had been a lifelong focus, trying to really connect with people. "It's me, I'm the problem, it's me" 🎶 with apologies to Swift.
Fatigue hits my mind like a pillow steamroller, weighing my eyelids and flattening my consciousness each time they droop. I cannot stay functional, my thought threads keep breaking. My kitty arrives, dropping down beside me from the headboard. I scratch his ears and soon fall asleep with him across my legs.
