existence

There is no exceptionalism in existence, all creatures great and small make their existence each day. We cope how we can and manage as we're able.

pulled down

Fatigue hits my mind like a pillow steamroller, weighing my eyelids and flattening my consciousness each time they droop. I cannot stay functional, my thought threads keep breaking. My kitty arrives, dropping down beside me from the headboard. I scratch his ears and soon fall asleep with him across my legs.

"pseudoscience" (AI)

Q: Many things are called pseudoscience that plainly aren't science and don't seem to be claiming to be science. Is this a form of policing by the scientific community? A: Yes, labeling something as pseudoscience can sometimes reflect a type of boundary-policing by the scientific community, especially when the term is applied to fields that don’t explicitly claim to be scientific. The goal of this policing can be to maintain the integrity and credibility of science, guarding it against ideas that might appear to blur the lines between evidence-based research and other forms of knowledge or belief. However, the term can sometimes be applied broadly or used to dismiss fields that are more interpretive, subjective, or experience-based. simple connection

I enjoy being around my cat and he enjoys being around me. The reciprocal simplicity is beautiful and soothing. We are not identical so we can't contribute the same things to our relationship, but we both contribute as we're able, from our hearts. Our relationship is consensual. Although he can't leave the house, he doesn't have to lay on my leg, that's his choice. I don't have to let him play-gnaw my hand or rub his head and back. He knows I'll still take care of him if he didn't show me affection or allow me to show affection to him, because he hasn't always, and I took care of him. I enjoy his soft warm calm presence, it grounds me and reminds me of my animal embodied nature, and makes me feel seen as who I've always tried to be, a safe person, safe even for the smallest and meekest. My cat loves me, and I feel loved.
